April 22, 2026

Coming up this week Along the Arc, the weather seems reticent to cooperate with a stacked calendar.

But you can’t go wrong with Dan Orlando at Wayvine Winery & Vineyard on Friday night inside their beautiful barn. And if the weather holds, Longwood will be in full-boom, but we have something more interesting for you to try (keep scrolling).

If you haven’t come to see one of Dan Orlando’s shows before, you’re in for a treat. He rocks Wayvine Vineyards’ barn for everything it’s worth. As the former pianist of “The Legends of Billy Joel” band, there isn’t a cover Dan can’t play. And if you haven’t already heard his originals, it’s only a matter of time.

Not to mention, Wayvine Winery & Vineyard is a hidden gem out in Nottingham, PA. It’s in that perfect zone between civilization and countryside. Great wine, better vibes—it’s a spot you’ll want to check out.

Brandywine Brag

If you’re a local, you may remember only being able to get a Mezzaluna slice when you could manage to stumble upon their wandering food truck. But not anymore… Our local pizza spot, Mezzaluna KSQ recently placed 3rd for best cheese slice in the Northeast at the 2026 Pizza Expo. A slice is a slice, but 3rd place stands out among 100+ competitors. And now, they’ve set up their mainstay at 216 S Mill Rd in Kennett Square for all of us to enjoy. Stop by for some awarding-winning ‘za!

Everyone around here has heard of Longwood Gardens. It’s amazing. It’s beautiful. It’s unmatched. It’s crowded.

Winterthur is Longwood's quieter, more intimate cousin. And for locals who want the magic without the crowds, it might actually be the move.

The naturalistic Enchanted Garden feels genuinely wild, not manicured. Spring azalea and woodland blooms stretch across 60 acres of rolling landscape. No musically-timed fountains, no fanfare. Just you and the landscape Henry Francis duPont designed to feel like a stroll through a living painting.

Oh, and the “Enchanted Woods” is just what you need to keep the kiddos occupied for hours. Think: playground with an imagination.
